HISTORY

Cross Timbers Rural Fire Department (CTRFD).

Established in December of 1981, is a Fire Association that provides fire suppression and other (non-medical) emergency services in Hickory and Benton County, Missouri. As a community-based company, we provide our services to the residents of the Townships of Cross Timbers, Fristoe, and parts of Edwards, as well as the unincorporated areas within our Jurisdiction. Our annual budget consists of voluntary subscriptions, local fundraising efforts, and grant opportunities. Located in a very rural portion of Missouri, there are no tax-based Fire Districts or Municipal Fire departments. Our department is staffed by 100% volunteers and operated under an uncompensated Board of Directors.

If not for the dedication of the CTRFD Firefighters, there would be limited or no response to calls for emergency assistance within our Jurisdiction.
